HELPING TO TURN LIVES AROUND SINCE 2008!
This house was started in hopes that it may help men in early recovery have a safe, clean, affordable, and supportive environment to live in. Turning Place is drug and alcohol free. There are no exceptions to this rule. It is my vision that those who stay here will stay as long as necessary so that they may make a positive transition from the horrors of addiction/alcoholism back into a productive member of society.
No one can move in or stay in Turning Place who is not clean, sober and committed to trying to stay that way. Unemployed men may be considered, but will have to seek work actively and make arrangements to pay rent in full. Everyone here has to attend 12 step meetings, get a home group, have a sponsor and actively work the 12 steps. Everyone has to do chores and abide by the rules. Curfews are strictly enforced, and visitors and overnight passes are restricted. Everyone has to agree to take random drug tests and permit random inspections of their personal belongings and rooms. Residents have to disclose what medications they take, and may not “self-medicate.” Residents are also encouraged to develop a plan for financial recovery, and start saving money.
