Frequently Asked Questions
A ParentSquare account is automatically generated for each parent/guardian using the primary email address and phone number you provided to your school office (also the email used by Skyward Family Access).
We strongly encourage you to activate your ParentSquare account! While this step is highly recommended, it is optional and you will still receive email communication from the district and school without doing so.
Directions for activating your account can be found here.
ParentSquare allows users to customize their notifications based on notification type and select their preferred delivery method for each school. The Instant setting will send all post notifications in real time. The Digest setting sends direct messages, alerts, and time-sensitive posts instantly, but sends all other posts at the end of the day, reducing the number of notifications you receive daily. (We recommend the Digest setting.) Notification Settings Guide.
Parents can update their language preference for their account. Once they have done this, ParentSquare will automatically translate any communication to them in their selected language. This translation will also occur when the parent sends a message to a staff member. Learn more about ParentSquare translations and how to set the language preference.
Yes. You will continue to receive essential district updates by phone, email, and text using the contact information on file. Even if you do not activate your ParentSquare account, you will still receive immediate real-time alerts sent from your student’s campus, as well as a daily email digest summarizing any messages sent that day.
Contact your school. Your school will be able to verify your identity and connect you to your child in ParentSquare.
Here is how you can stay in touch with your child's school:
Teachers: You can continue using their school email, or send a direct message through the ParentSquare by going to Messages and clicking New Message.
Principals: You can reply to any message the principal sends you, but you cannot start a new message thread to them.
For step-by-step instructions, see the View, Send or Reply to a Direct Message guide
To receive a single summary notification at the end of the day, switch your settings to Digest. If you have children enrolled at multiple schools, be sure to set your notification preferences separately for each school. To learn more, see Notification Settings Guide.
