Q: How quickly will new students be given a turlockusd.org GAFE (Google Apps for Education) account?

A: We have a service that creates those accounts as soon as they’re entered into Aeries.  It syncs nightly and the accounts are available the next day.

Q: Can we be given a list of student names/login in at the beginning of the school year?

A: Unfortunately, Google doesn’t allow us to see passwords in the system.  The username naming conventions are standard, though. (First name, first initial of last name, and last two numbers of their PERM ID) followed by @turlockusd.org. These network login ID’s can be found in Aeries. They can be found here: Student Data > Demographics > Student Data 2 > Network Login ID

Q: Can students use their personal Google accounts for Google apps (Docs,Slides, Sheets, Classroom, etc.)

A: Students need to use a district-issued account.  Not only are some GSuite features only available with that account (ex Google Classroom), we can also better support you and them with a district account.  We have no control over a personal account, and should something go significantly wrong, there’s not much we can do on our end to help.

Q: My student doesn't remember their GAFE account password. Who would I contact to get that reset?

A: Google doesn't allow us to see passwords in the system. However, if you need assistance with your TUSD GSuite account, please contact Yesenia Dominguez, TUSD App Specialist.
