Nurturing Growth Together
Warm greetings to Students, Respected Parents, Teachers, and Visitors,
Thank you for attending our PYP Exhibition.
I am thrilled to be here and extremely proud of all of our talented, and highly driven young learners.
The PYP exhibition is the core of the programme, a celebration of learning and the culmination of their journey. Throughout these years, students have developed the skills to be inquirers, and are encouraged to explore their passion and learn relevant knowledge. We hope with the skills developed, students learn to take risks and become advocates of change for our future.
This year, students explored issues dealing with mental health; food waste; climate change; ocean sustainability and pollution; health protocols; child marriage; education and books for children; responsible fashion; and mask waste. These are pressing issues currently challenging society and our government. And while policies are still in the making, I am proud to tell you that they have not only discovered possible solutions to their issues, but have taken action to take that one step forward.
As they transition to MYP and DP, students will continue to experience taking action through their community project, their personal project, and lastly, their extended essay all of which develop their skills towards practical preparation for undergraduate research. As educators and mentors, we are proud to be a part of their journey to achieving the best that they can be, global citizens and advocates for positive change.
Congratulations to our primary year 6 students of Tunas Muda Meruya School!
It is a wonderful celebration to have the PYP Exhibition in a “new normal” situation and condition which is done entirely online.
It is truly an amazing achievement to have another virtual PYP exhibition.
As you know, The PYP Exhibition marks their achievements in primary before they step into MYP. It demonstrates how students apply their learning throughout their primary years, bringing together the skills and knowledge to share a global issue and take action locally. The duration of the process is lengthy but rewarding. Students are drawn by their purpose to do their very best, and for that, I am extremely honoured to have been a part of their learning journey.
I am proud of your perseverance in adapting to the changes throughout this year. It has been challenging, but you faced it with resilience and patience. Remember that if you can face the past 2 years, you can definitely face the future with grit.
My sincere gratitude goes out to parents, mentors, teachers, respected guest speakers, school staff and those who have tirelessly guided and supported our students.
They could not have done this without the continuous cooperation and support from you all.
Wish you all the best!
Inspired by the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals pledge, this year we chose “Leave No One Behind” as our theme. This pledge represents the commitment of UN member states to eradicate poverty in all its forms, end discrimination and exclusion, and reduce the inequalities and vulnerabilities that isolate and undermine the potential of individuals, and of humanity as a whole. From this pledge, we would like to raise awareness of issues in our community. As our students share their passion, goals, and actions, we hope you will be moved to make a difference by taking a small step forward as well.
I would like to congratulate the students of Year 6 and their mentors for their amazing achievements. You have worked really hard for these past 6 months discussing, researching, interviewing, and expressing your ideas, feelings, beliefs, and values regarding the chosen issue. Each milestone is celebrated with both you and your community.
