These women work in many fields, including Energy, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Biology.

Dr. Martha Parrott


Professor of Mathematics Education and Assistant Dean for the College of Science and Health Professions


Northeastern State University in Broken Arrow

Dr. Martha Parrott is the Assistant Dean for the College of Science and Health Professions and Professor of Mathematics at Northeastern State University in Broken Arrow. She is a former classroom teacher who today serves pre-service and in-service teachers of mathematics through undergraduate and graduate programs. Dr. Parrott is a DaVinci Fellow, an especially prestigious teaching award in higher education which recognizes her creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning.

She has been honored as a Woman in STEM for her STEM education contributions in the greater Tulsa area. Dr. Parrott also serves as the Chair of the M. Ed. Mathematics Education program, university coordinator of the Oklahoma Elementary Math Specialist program, and directs the NSU Mathematics Clinic, an outreach initiative to serve the community. She presents nationally, publishes, and conducts research in the field of mathematics education.

Jenny Sallee, PE


Roadway Team Leader / Senior Project Manager


Garver

Mrs. Jenny Sallee leads the highway design team in Oklahoma.

Her team works on some of the biggest interchange projects in the state. Jenny is also a senior project manager in Garver’s Tulsa, Oklahoma office where she is dedicated to providing clients with excellent customer service and a quality product. Jenny has more than 23 years of experience in transportation and roadway design, is a member of Women Transportation Seminar and the American Council of Engineering Consultants and carries a Professional Engineer’s license in Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Kansas and Georgia. She joined the Garver ownership group in 2015.



Mrs. Sallee’s professional experience includes leading the design effort and managing projects for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority and several municipalities in Oklahoma. She uses math, especially geometry and trigonometry, every day on her job to layout roadways. Her design experience includes roadway and highway designs, more specifically geometrics, 3D modeling, drainage design, construction sequencing, and signing and striping. Jenny has had the opportunity to work on over 20 interchange projects throughout Oklahoma either as a designer, project manager or review for quality control. Notable projects that Jenny has led include I-35 & Waterloo Road Interchange (Oklahoma’s first diverging diamond interchange), I-44 & 165 th Interchange near Catoosa, as well as a 20 mile corridor study for the Turner Turnpike which includes three interchanges from Bristow to Sapulpa.

Jenny was born in Winsted, Connecticut and moved to Oklahoma at the age of two. After graduating Valedictorian from Noble High School she attended Oklahoma State University where she received a BS and MS in Civil Engineering. During college, Jenny worked as a research assistant and teaching assistant for several professors. After college graduation she moved to the Tulsa metro area where she still resides. She is married to Ken Sallee and has two children, Bailey – 21 and Jake – 14. Jenny’s interests include reading, gardening, watching her son play lacrosse, spending time with family and traveling.


Kristen Loyd

Kristen Loyd is a Software Engineer at Holberton Tulsa where she mentors students to learn how to learn in the world of computer science. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California with a degree in Education and Minor in Montessori Thought.


While she’s worked across sectors in mom-and-pop retail shops, finance firms, kindergarten classrooms, and software development teams, her passions have always included solving problems and helping others. While she is native to the California Bay area, she's excited to be relocating to Tulsa at the end of July!




Carissa Schnabel

Agricultural Resource Conservationist

Berks County Conservation District

Carissa Schnabel is an Agricultural Resource Conservationist with the Berks County Conservation District in Berks County, Pennsylvania where she helps farmers implement practices that conserve our natural resources. She has also worked for two environmental non-profits- The Nature Conservancy and Natural Lands, where she did research on flood mitigation, created maps for conservation projects, and supported land protection projects. She has a bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology and a masters degree in Conservation Biology. She enjoys applying her science background to conservation in her jobs because not only does she get to see what she learned in the classroom every day, but she also gets to help make sure that our environment gets better in the future instead of worse. In her spare time, Carissa enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, and spending time with her dog, Woody.

Tatiana Dourkina

Production Systems Lead Instructor

Schlumberger

Tatiana is a member of Association Of Science & Engineering Technology Professionals Of Alberta. She is a graduate of the University of Cape Town and the Alberta Institute of Technology. She works for Schlumberger Kellyville Learning Centre as Production Systems Lead Instructor. Tatiana's responsibilities include managing a small team of instructors, ensuring training content development and course delivery to promote safe and sustainable ways of resource extraction; training and development of Digital Technologies, providing awareness of key digital concepts, tools and new product development.

She enjoys the great outdoors, whether it be hiking, camping, fishing, horseback riding.




Dr. Chellby Kilheffer


Biologist


US Fish and Wildlife Service

Chellby Kilheffer is a biologist with the US Fish and Wildlife Service.


Chellby completed a PhD in 2018, which focused on effects of white-tailed deer to recovering coastal vegetation.


She began working in wildlife sciences in 2010 as a college student at Penn State Berks in Reading, PA, and loves hiking, bird watching, wildlife photography, and visiting new places (especially National Parks!)



Carmen Lucia Romero Granja

WPS Instructor


Schlumberger

Carmen has worked at Schlumberger for more than 14 years in both Ecuador and the United States.


She graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Escuela Politécnica Naciona in Quito, Ecuador, and an EMBA from the IDE Business School.


In her free time, Carmen enjoys learning about new cultures, listening to music, dancing, and gardening.
