Thank you for joining us for the TRSA Virtual Summer Academy. As unprecedented times call for unprecedented measures, we have taken all our summer camps into the virtual space, opening the activities and curriculum to ALL families! Please enjoy the following camps and we would love to give a big "Shout Out" to our partners providing videos, activities, interviews, and experiences.

Who is this camp best suited for? 3rd-5th graders

What's it all about? Celebrating over 50 years of space travel, students will use the engineering design process as they learn about humans’ endeavors to return to the Moon and visit Mars. Days will be filled with hands-on activities as we explore robotics and modes of space transportation, investigate the Moon remotely, and imagine how humans will live and work on the Moon and Mars.

Who made this camp possible? This camp and the materials you received are made possible by two incredible funders:

  • Flight Night, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) supporting STEM education, programs, and projects that inspire curiosity and learning in tomorrow’s leaders. The charity was founded by the late Ray H. Siegfried II.

  • Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission, whose mission is to promote aviation, which includes ensuring that the needs of commerce and communities across Oklahoma are met by the state's 108 public airports that comprise the state’s air transportation system, and ensuring the growth and vitality of the state's aerospace industry.

  • Additionally, we are appreciative of our partners at the Tulsa Air & Space Museum, Outdoor Classroom at Woodward Park, Col. Paul Lockhart and Oklahoma NASA Space Grant Consortium for providing content.

How do I participate?

  1. Take our Pre-Survey before you start on any materials. You can find this at the top of the Day 1 page.

  2. This is a self-paced camp, but we encourage you to go through each day in order.

  3. Participate in any and all activities you're able to. We've listed out all necessary supplies and many activities use only items that are easily found at home or the grocery store (paper, tape, Popsicle sticks, etc.).

  4. Have a great experience and take lots of pictures to share with us! You can tag us on social media (@tulsastem), email them to info@tulsastem.org, or upload them on the post-camp survey.

  5. Take our post-survey located on the Day 5 tab and let us know what you thought.
