Standards

During the summer, participants will work with the University of Tulsa professors to develop teachers' knowledge of the science, technology, engineering and math used in designing, building and flying quadcopters through several Oklahoma Academic Standards-aligned projects. Possible projects include:

  • Pointing and Tracking in Mobile Free-Space Optical Communication
  • Scanning a Sensor Over a Designated Area
  • Spatial Navigation in 3D Environment
  • Eliminating Electromagnetic Interference
  • Protecting Quadcopter Payloads During Landing and Maneuvering

The Oklahoma Academic Standards addressed through these projects include:

  • Geometry: Two-Dimensional Shapes, Circles, Right Triangle Geometry
  • Algebra: Algebraic Reasoning, Functions, Data and Probability
  • Computer Science
  • Physical Science: Waves and Applications
  • Physics
