Our class will be working out of the 6th grade science texts, PowerPoint files, worksheets, crosswords, cryptopuzzles, and double puzzles, quizzes and tests.

SUPPLIES:

SUPPLIES ARE LISTED IN THE 7TH GRADE TEAM SUPPLY LIST ON WEBSITE.

I have particular need for #2 wood pencils, paper towels, Febreeze, 409 cleaner, dry erase markers, and wide ruled paper,

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

Students are expected to follow Edison’s Code of Student Conduct as well as lab safety procedures. Each student will receive a Lab Safety Contract to review with their parent(s)/guardian(s), sign, and return. Students cannot participate in any labs unless I have, on file, a lab safety contract which signed by their parent/guardian. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that I have their signed contract on file.

Concerning textbooks: I will not be able to loan out any hard copies, except under special circumstances. When prearranged I can provide electronic and hardcopy printouts of the PowerPoint note files, worksheets, crosswords, problem sets, and vocabulary reviews covering the subject matter we are studying.

GRADING POLICY

I will provide each student with a folder. Students are expected to keep their work in their class folders. Folders will remain in my room. It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of their folder. Folders will be returned at the end of the school year. The folder is worth 80% of a student’s overall grade. 10 % of the grade comes from projects. The remaining 10% is from tests.

If a student is absent, it is up to them to ask for the class work covered during their absence. Upon their return, the student will have 3 class days to complete and return it for grading.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES POLICY

No electronic devices are allowed out during class time. This includes not plugged in earphones and earbuds. If I see a device out, I will confiscate it, turn it over to Mr. Skeie or Dr. Piper and the student will have to speak to them about its return.
