Classroom Expectations

This, in addition to school wide policy, is a set of expectations created to make the classroom a positive and safe learning environment for all. Students will gain respect for themselves and for others by following these guidelines.

1. Be in your assigned seat on time with all needed supplies.

2. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

3. Raise your hand for permission to ask questions or leave your seat.

4. No food, gum, or any kind of drink unless previously allowed by the teacher.

5. Do not use offensive language of any kind.

6. Show respect for others and for yourself.

This means:

a. Listen and do not interrupt someone else when they are talking.

b. Do not distract others who are in the process of learning.

c. No bullying or putdowns.

Classroom Procedures

  1. The first day of each week students will copy down the weekly agenda.
  2. When Mrs. Freeman is giving instructions, students will not speak or make noises. After instructions are given, student questions will be answered.
  3. Chromebooks will be used in the classroom. They will not be taken home. Students are expected to use these responsibly.
  4. Homework will be given regularly and turned in at the beginning of class.
  5. Students may not have passes to go to the restroom or anywhere else during the first five minutes or the last five minutes of class. A student who chooses to leave class too often may lose the right to any passes at all. Passes will not be written for going to lockers.
  6. At the end of the class hour the teacher, not the bell, will dismiss the class. Students will not line up at the door to leave.

Make-Up Work

It will be the responsibility of the student to keep track of his or her own make-up work. Students need to check with me on the day they return to class. The work must be labeled ABSENT at the top and turned in as soon as possible.

Late Work

Late work will only be accepted for half credit and must be labeled LATE at the top. While half credit may not seem like much, it can make a big difference in the final grade. Late work will not be accepted when it is over a week late. Exceptions for certain circumstances may be made.
