Danny Burnes - Director of Bands

Doug Styers is in his 7th year at Edison Preparatory School as the assistant director. He is a graduate of Southern Nazarene Univesity with a degree in Music Education. Doug is also an alumni of Tulsa Public Schools, having graduated from East Central High School in 1999. A performing musician in the Tulsa Area, Doug leads his own swing/Jazz Band, the Zuits, as well as plays in several other groups around town when called. Doug has served as the All-State Jazz Band Chair for three years, organizing the honor organization and coordinating with its clinicians. He also is the band director of the T-Town Jazz Sound, which is an after school jazz program aimed at Tulsa area high school jazz musicians. This group has performed in New York City three times, twice as a big band and once as a combo, in the Charles MIngus Music Festival.
