On Tuesday, December 18th, we took the retake of the A2 #49 Factoring, Solving and Graphing Quadratics Quiz. If you are absent you will need to make it up today during class, before or after school!

- Study for the final using the USATestPrep reivew!!
On Monday, December 17th, we talked about the format of the final exam. It will be on USATestPrep, includes about 45 multiple choice questions, and 3 short answer questions that you will type into the chromebook on USATestPrep. You will be expected to show your work on a piece of paper in order to potentially get partial credit on questions you answer incorrectly.
Today we logged into USATestPrep and started the Study Guide and Practice for the final exam. You have unlimited attempts at this assignment, so you should continue practicing until you get all questions right. On Wednesday after school I will set it so that it shows you the correct answers in case there are any that you are stuck on.
Don't forget to study for the retake of the A2 #49 Factoring, Solving and Graphing Quadratics Quiz we will take tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 18th!! You are required to take it if you scored less than a 20/22 on the quiz.
I also gave out a binder checklist (below) today for a binder check tomorrow, Tuesday Dec. 18th!!

On Thursday, December 6th, we went over A2 #47 Factoring, and Solving Quadratics Review in preparation for the quiz tomorrow. The answer keys for the A2 #46 and A2#47 Reviews are posted below.

On Wednesday, December 5th, I will not be at school. Your instructions are written on the whiteboard on the south wall of the classroom and listed below.
You are to continue working on A2 #46 Graphing Quadratics Review (referring to notes #24-25) and A2 #47 Factoring and Solving Quadratics Review (referring to Notes #29-40). We will go over the answers on Thursday in class.
When you finish those two review you should begin working on A2 #47-b Factoring Quadratics Pre-Calculus Review (below). Write your work on a separate piece of paper and staple them together.

On Thursday, November 15th, we continued working on the Graphing Quadratics in Vertex Form Task Cards in your groups.
Students also got A2 #38-b Quiz Corrections Instructions (below). This assignment is required for everyone!!! Please read the instructions carefully. This is due on Tuesday, November 20th (our last day before Thanksgiving break).
On Wednesday, November 14th, we began working on the Graphing Quadratics in Vertex Form Task Cards in your groups. The work we did to get started is below. We will continue this activity tomorrow.
Students also got A2 #39 Graphing Quadratics in Vertex Form Reference Sheet (below).
On Tuesday, November 13th, we worked on KhanAcademy assignments over factoring quadratics and graphing quadratics from vertex form. Students who were absent yesterday took the Factoring Quadratics Quiz!
On Monday, November 12th, we took the Factoring Quadratics Quiz! Students were given time to work on missing assignments after the quiz.
- A2 #37 Factoring Quadratics Summary and Practice was due today!
On Friday, November 9th, we worked on a Factoring Scavenger Hunt in groups. Please make sure you turn in your work page to get credit!

On Friday, October 26th, we went through the notes on the front side of A2 #29 Factoring Polynomials with a = 1 (blank and filled in versions below). You are responsible for doing the rest for Monday.
I also checked A2 #28 Multiplying Binomials Practice (only the front). If you were absent, you need to show me your paper on Monday!
On Thursday, October 25th, students turned in their binder for the binder check #1! If you were absent, yours is due when you return!
We then worked on Multiplying Polynomial Task Cards in groups (an example is below). I did the first task with you and then you need to finish the rest with your group. If you were not here, you will be exempt from this activity.
Remember, A2 #25 Graphing Quadratics Assignment was due today, so if you were absent, turn it in when you return!!
On Wednesday, October 24th, I gave out the A2 Binder Checklist - Check #1 (a salmon pink paper) and gave students time to work on organizing their binders according to that list in class.
- The binder check #1 will be tomorrow, Thursday 10/25!!
- If you were absent today, yours will be due on Friday, 10/26!! This is a quiz grade, so please take it seriously!
We then went over A2 #28 Multiplying Binomials Notes and Practice (blank and filled in versions below). I did the first two problems with you and then you need to finish the rest by yourself. We will check this tomorrow!
Remember, A2 #25 Graphing Quadratics Assignment will be due tomorrow, Thursday, 10/25.
On Tuesday, October 23rd, we went over A2 #36 Writing Quadratic Equations in Vertex Form Notes (blank and filled in versions below).
Students should now be able to do #'s 10-13 on the A2 #25 Graphing Quadratics Assignment. This assignment will be due on Thursday, 10/25.
On Tuesday, October 16th, students continued working on the assignment A2 #25 Graphing Quadratic Equations in Vertex Form if they had not finished problems 1-9 yet. It will be due after the break when we finish the notes that go with problems 10-13.
Students also worked on A2 #23 Murder Mystery Packet (below). If they finished in class, they were to turn it in to the tray. If you did not finish it in class, it is due when we get back from break.
On Monday, October 15th, we took the "Identifying Quadratic Transformations Quiz". If you were absent, you should expect to take it tomorrow. We then worked on the assignment A2 #25 Graphing Quadratic Equations in Vertex Form in class. It will be due after the break when we finish the notes that go with problems 10-13.
On Friday, October 12th, we worked on the assignment A2 #25 Graphing Quadratic Equations in Vertex Form in class. It is due on Monday, 10/15.
Students could also have been working on their quiz corrections, which must be turned in by the end of today.
Don't forget, we will take a quiz over identifying Quadratic Transformations from the function in vertex form and from looking at a graph. On GoogleClassroom, I posted a link to the Kahoot! we played on Wednesday to help you practice. You should also study your A2#24 notes. However, you will not be required to graph on this quiz.
On Thursday, October 11th, we finished going over A2 #24 Graphing Quadratics in Vertex Form Notes (filled in version below).
This document also contains the work we did on a separate piece of paper to practice following order of operations when plugging in x-values to the functions to make tables.
I also handed out the assignment for these notes - A2 #25 Graphing Quadratic Equations in Vertex Form (below). We will work on this in class tomorrow and it will be due on Monday, 10/15.
On Wednesday, October 10th, we played a Kahoot! over Quadratic Transformations and one over Order of Operations. If you were absent, you are exempt from the completion grade.
On Tuesday, October 9th, we continued going over A2 #24 Graphing Quadratics in Vertex Form Notes (filled in version below).
This document also contains the work we did on a separate piece of paper to practice following order of operations when plugging in x-values to the functions to make tables.
The last pages are copies of the quadratic parent graph and order of operations notes we made on a small piece of graph paper that you need to keep in your binder!
On Monday, October 8th, we began going over A2 #24 Graphing Quadratics in Vertex Form Notes (blank and filled in versions below). We will continue working on these notes tomorrow, so fill them if with what we have so far if you were absent!
On Friday, October 5th, I handed back the A2 #18 Graphing Linear and Absolute Value Function quizzes. You picked up the handout A2 #18-b Quiz - Post Quiz Instructions (below). These explain you quiz correction assignment that is REQUIRED for EVERYONE to complete. It also describes the steps you must follow if you wish to re-take this quiz.
We also worked on cutting and labeling our #16, #17, and #20 foldables. See me if you have any questions about that.
On Thursday, October 4th, we went over A2 #22 Tables and Graphing Calculator Activity (a blank copy and our filled in notes are below). You are to finish the rest on your own using a graphing calculator (TI-83, TI-84, etc). When finished with the activity, you should also check your graphs in A2 #21 to be sure they are correct.
On Wednesday, October 3rd, I will not be at school unfortunately.
You are to work on A2 #23 Murder Mystery packet (below) for review. You must show you work when solving any equations in the packet.
When you are finished with that, you may continue working in partners on A2 #21 Graphing Quadratics Group Activity #1 and then on A2 #22 (below), which you will need a graphing calculator for.
On Tuesday, October 2nd, we continued working in partners on A2 #21 Graphing Quadratics Group Activity #1. If you did not finish in class today, it will be homework due Thursday, 10/4!
On Monday, October 1st, we worked in partners on A2 #21 Graphing Quadratics Group Activity #1 (blank version below). We will continue to work on this in class tomorrow. If you do not finish in class tomorrow, it will be homework due Thursday, 10/4!
On Friday, September 28th, we went over A2 #19 Parent Functions Notes (blank and filled in versions below) together and then wrote down those same functions on our blue A2 #20 Parent Functions Foldable (below). Your assignment is to make a table of 5 points and graph each.
On Thursday, September 27th, we had everyone login to Foolproof Financial Literacy, the course that Edison uses for students to complete their Personal Financial Literacy state graduation requirement.
On Wednesday, September 26th, we took the quiz over Graphing Linear and Absolute Value Functions. This covered notes/assignments #'s 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 14, 15, 16, and 17. You got to use Notes #17 (pink) on your quiz, as well as the Study Guide that we you made Monday and Tuesday.
If you were absent, you should expect to take the quiz in class tomorrow!
On Tuesday, September 25th, we worked on the study guide we began yesterday and created a review for the quiz tomorrow according to the directions below.
Remember, we will be having a quiz over Graphing Linear and Absolute Value Functions. This will cover notes/assignments #'s 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 14, 15, 16, and 17. You will get to use Notes #17 (pink) on your quiz, as well as the Study Guide that we you made yesterday and today.
On Monday, September 24th, we continued working on the Matching Linear Functions, Graphs, and Tables Activity in class in partners. If you were not here, you will be exempt from this activity.
If you finished the activity in class, you will get extra credit. If you did not finish, but come in before or after school to finish the activity, you will get extra credit.
I also announced that we will be having a quiz over Graphing Linear and Absolute Value Functions. This will cover notes/assignments #'s 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 14, 15, 16, and 17. You will get to use Notes #17 (pink) on your quiz, as well as the Study Guide that we began working on today at the beginning of class. The below attachment is what we started today. We will continue working on this and you will create your own review tomorrow in class.
On Friday, September 21st, we worked on the Matching Linear Functions, Graphs, and Tables Activity in class in partners. If you were not here, you will be exempt from this activity.
On Thursday, September 20th, we finished working on A2 #16 Absolute Value Transformations (printed orange), and then graphed the functions given on A2 #17 Functions Transformations Foldable (pink and below). Each grid should have two functions - the parent graph and the transformation given. I have also posted the two I showed you in class to get started (below).
On Wednesday, September 19th, we worked on A2 #16 Absolute Value Transformations (printed orange), graphing functions according to instructions below:
On Tuesday, September 18th, we continued working on the A2 #15 Absolute Value Function Assignment (problems worked in class below). This assignment will be due on Thursday, 9/20.
A2 #8 Function Notation Assignment will also be due on Thursday, 9/20!
On Monday, September 17th, we went over the A2 #14 Absolute Value Function Notes (blank and filled in versions below) and began working on the A2 #15 Absolute Value Function Assignment (below). This assignment will be due on Wednesday, 9/19 so that you can ask any questions you have on Tuesday!
On Friday, September 14th, we went over the A2 #7 Function Notation Notes (blank and filled in versions below) and spent the rest of class working on the A2 #8 Function Notation Practice assignment (below). This assignment will be due on Tuesday, 9/18 so that you can ask any questions you have on Monday!
On Thursday, September 13th, we went over the A2 #13 Function Notes (blank and filled in versions below) on how to identify whether a relation is a function in various forms (tables, ordered pairs, graphs, and mapping diagrams).
I collected A2 #12 and A2 #10 if you had not turned those in yesterday.
On Wednesday, September 12th, we went over how to graph lines from slope-intercept form (y = mx + b). The work that we did on this sheet is below.
In 5th hour, we also went over how to convert #'s 31-36 on A2#10 Graphing Lines Review assignment into slope-intercept form so that they can be graphed. The work we did for that is also below.
At right is an image of what all has been turned in this week and what is due tomorrow.
On Tuesday, September 11th, we were on a block schedule with the even hours so we did not have class.
On Monday, September 10th, we were on a block schedule with the odd hours. 9th and 10th grade students had to take the Math MAP test and were not in class until they finished the test.
Students present in class worked on the 5 KhanAcademy assignments over finding slope and graphing lines from slope-intercept form.
You should be working on the orange papers (A2 #12 Graphing Lines Puzzle - attached below) if you haven't finished it already. We will discuss it in class on Wednesday and turn it in.
If you have not already turned in (A2 #6 Literal Equations Review Assignment and A2 #10 Graphing Line Review, they were due today.
On Friday, September 7th, I will not be at school.

We also reviewed some problems from A2 #6 Literal Equations Review Assignment (work below), which is due Monday. If you are still having trouble with this assignment, please come see me for tutoring before school on Monday!!

We also went over some problems on A2 #6 Solving Literal Equations Review that students had questions on - ask me via Remind or email if you still have questions! This assignment will be due on Wednesday.
Then we went over A2#10 Graphing Lines Review (blank and filled in versions below). We did the first two problems on the back, and you are expected to complete the first 6 problems.
I will not be here on Tuesday, so you have A2#6 and A2#10 to work on in class, as well as A2#9 (pink paper) which will be available to you in class on Tuesday. We will answer any questions you have on Wednesday.
On Thursday, August 30th, we went discussed the late work policy (see Syllabus), and then graded A2 #3 Simplify Expressions with highlighters and turned in that assignment. If you were absent, it is due tomorrow.
We also went over some problems on A2 #5 Solving Equations Review Assignment (do #'s 1-9 only) that students had questions on - the work we did is below. This assignment will be due tomorrow, Friday, in class.
Then we went over literal equations on the back of notes A2 #4 Solving Equations Review Notes (filled in version below) and began A2 #6 Literal Equations Review assignment (below). You work on this tonight and we will answer questions over these problems tomorrow in class. Notice problem #1 from the assignment is worked on the last page of the notes.
On Wednesday, August 29th, we went over the first page of the notes A2 #4 Solving Equations Review Notes (blank and filled in versions attached).
You were assigned A2 #5 (below), #'s 1-9 only for homework. We will answer questions over these problems tomorrow in class.
On Tuesday, August 28th, we talked about Combining Like Terms in the Do Now problems (pdf of the work we did below).
Then we went over the notes A2 #2 Rational Numbers (blank and filled in versions attached).
You were assigned A2 #3 Simplify Expressions (below) for homework. We will answer questions over these problems tomorrow in class.
On Monday, August 27th, we had class forums so many students were gone from each class. The students that remained worked on SAT Prep or Algebra review on KhanAcademy.

On Thursday, August 23rd, we did a Coordinate Plane Review Kahoot! in class. If you were absent, you will be exempt from this.
We also began the "Height vs. Arm Span Activity". We measured and recorded each other's heights and arm spans in inches. If you were not here today, you will need to take these measurements tomorrow.
On Wednesday, August 22nd, we began going over the syllabus (see syllabus page) and students received a "Student/Parent Info Form" to have filled out and signed by their parent/guardian (3rd page of syllabus document). Those are due by Monday, August 27th.
We also wrote about our math numbers after looking at the attached pdf. If you were not present today, you should read through the math number options and then write according to the prompts on page 5. Turn this paper into the "Absentee" tray behind my desk for credit.
