Independent Biotech Advanced Research

Welcome to iBAR!

Independent Biotech Advanced Research Lab (iBAR) is a yearlong independent study within the Biomedical/Biotechnology disciplines. iBAR has students creating real questions regarding their worldly observations, formulating a hypothesis or engineering goal, developing a method of experimentation, analyzing the data set, and discussing the details of their results in a concise, scientific manner. This course can meet the graduation requirement for a Lab Science credit or a CTE/vocational credit (Pending CTE approval).

Students engaging in the independent Biotech Advanced Research (iBAR) Lab will:

During the entire process, a scientific journal will chronologically keep any and all research questions, ideas, data, and analysis. Each student will be required to use technological means for creating, experimenting, or statistically analyzing the data sets. Once the journal article has been completed, reviewed, and approved, each student will create a presentation both physically (poster) as well as digitally (PowerPoint/G Slides), and present the scientific research to the scientific community.
