Varsity-Head Coach

Jess Portillo 

Coach Jess began her coaching journey with the Pride in 2020 as a JV assistant and is now proudly entering her 6th year as the Varsity Head Coach. A proud Mountain Pointe alumna and former player from the late ’90s, she’s passionate about giving back to the program that helped shape her.

When she's not on the field, Coach Jess serves as the Principal’s Assistant at MPHS. Off campus, she’s a proud mom to Ariana and Jesus, who are just as dedicated to MPHS Softball as she is!

Jesse Arriaga

With over 22 years of experience coaching both softball and baseball, Coach Jesse brings a deep passion and wealth of knowledge to the field. He has spent the past 8 years managing and coaching at the club level, and is now entering his 5th year with Mountain Pointe Softball.

Dedicated to the growth of the program, Coach Jesse is excited to continue building a strong and competitive team. Outside of softball, he works a full-time job—but always makes time for what he loves most: coaching and mentoring young athletes.

Assistant Coach

Gabriella Arriaga

Coach Gabby is a proud graduate of Park University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology. She played softball for nearly 10 years, competing in middle school, high school, club teams, and one year at ParkU. In the off-season, Coach Gabby also serves as an assistant coach for an 18U club softball team. When she’s not coaching or on the field, she enjoys playing pickleball, building with Legos, and traveling the world.

Her goal for this season is to create lasting memories with each player while leading the team to a successful year full of wins!
