Coach Mac is available to connect with college coaches and recruiters daily between 8:35 AM and 3:35 PM.
Football class periods are scheduled from 12:25 PM to 3:35 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Wednesdays operate on an early release schedule, and football class times are 12:04 - 2:23 PM.
If you are planning to visit campus or would like to meet regarding a specific student-athlete, please contact Coach Mac in advance so we can ensure athlete availability and maximize your time on campus.
We are also happy to accommodate before-school or after-school visits when needed. Our goal is to make the recruiting process as efficient and productive as possible for both our student-athletes and visiting programs.

Before beginning the recruiting process, it is important to understand these facts:

Recruiting is primarily driven by the athlete

Film is the most important part of recruiting.
Every athlete interested in playing college football should complete the following:
✔ Maintain strong academic performance
✔ Create and update Hudl highlight film
✔ Register with NCAA Eligibility Center (if applicable)
✔ Register with NAIA Eligibility Center (if applicable)
✔ Attend college camps and showcases
✔ Communicate with college coaches
✔ Maintain consistent strength and conditioning
✔ Represent Desert Vista Football with character and professionalism
Offer - A scholarship opportunity from a college program.
Verbal Commitment - A non-binding agreement between player and school.
Official Visit - Visit paid for by the college.
Unofficial Visit - Visit paid for by the family.
Redshirt - Player practices but does not compete in games for one season.
Preferred Walk-On - Roster spot without scholarship.
Recruiting begins as early as freshman year but becomes most active during junior year.
Grades are critical. Academic eligibility determines whether athletes are eligible to compete at the college level.
Camps provide valuable exposure, but film remains the most important evaluation tool.
Yes. Our coaching staff actively promotes our athletes and provides guidance throughout the recruiting process.
However, athletes must take initiative and remain proactive.
