Peabody Outdoor Classroom

Peabody Preserve Outdoor Classroom (PPOC) is a natural preserve extending over 39 acres owned by TUFSD with an extensive marked nature trail system. It includes forest land, streams, ponds, wetlands, rocky outcroppings, vernal pool, playing Fields, native and invasive plant species, bugs, birds, bunnies and so much more.

PPOC is a signature program where TUFSD students explore and learn in nature through hands-on exploration that extends and deepens the subject matter being studied in their indoor classrooms. Students open their senses to the natural world and learn to be stewards of the land and water.

The Preserve is open to the community from dawn to dusk. Come walk the trails and explore while also enjoying the various classroom spaces. Find the one overlooking Fremont Pond, the one tucked into a circle of Sycamore trees, the one nestled next to an impressive hillside.
