About Mrs. Keller

Hello Parents, Students and Community Members~

Welcome to 7th grade science at Alder Creek Middle School. I am Mrs. Keller. I'm very excited to be at Alder Creek Middle School and looking forward to working with the awesome students, families, and community members in Truckee. Before ACMS I taught at a STEM Academy in Washoe County for a year. I spent nine years teaching in rural Alaskan villages. The villages were only accessible by airplanes year round, and barges in the summer. Before Alaska I taught seventh and eighth grade science in St. Paul, Minnesota.

When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy being outdoors. Hiking, running, bird watching, kayaking, and taking photos are a few of my hobbies. I love to read and am often reading several books at the same time. My husband and I are frequently traveling during school breaks.

I believe we need to model lifelong learning for students. I'm pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (at this point in time I'm an "All But Dissertation"). My Masters Degree is in K-12 Educational Leadership, and my Bachelors Degree was in K-8 Science Education. I've also worked at adding a high school science endorsement.

I'm looking forward to the 2020-2021 school year!
