College Fair at Tualatin High School!
4/21 9:15am – 10:45am This is an "ARROW Mini-Fair" - a small college fair attended by various colleges/universities such as the Univeristy of Oregon and University of Arizona (TBD which will others will be in attendance) .Typically, there are 10-15 colleges represented and students can attend the fair to meet with admissions representatives.

Scholarship Highlights ✨
The King City Lions Club – Henry J. Marchion II Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship awarded to graduating seniors of Tigard and Tualatin High Schools to attend community college anywhere in the United States.
Due April 10th
Students interested in applying should go to https://oregoncf.my.site.com/MyOCF_login, select “Create a student account” and select the King City Lions Club Scholarship from the list of available scholarship funds. (You can also check out the other scholarships listed there to see if you may be eligible to apply!)
The Tualatin Rotary First Generation Scholarship is a $20,000 scholarship/mentorship for Juniors
Due April 17th
The Tualatin Rotary sponsors this scholarship for first generation college students who are high achieving and can demonstrate a financial need. In addition to receiving the financial support, the Rotary provides a mentor to support the student through college.

Oregon Promise: For students entering Community College within 6 months of graduation.

Community Events
The Black Student Success Summit (BSSS) is BEAM Village’s signature annual event bringing together Black middle and high school students, families, educators, and community partners for a day of learning, celebration, and connection. Rooted in culture and powered by community, the Summit creates a space where Black students are seen, supported, and surrounded by people who believe in their brilliance.
Students engage in hands-on workshops, explore college and career pathways, meet Black professionals across industries, and build the leadership skills needed to navigate their futures with confidence and clarity.

University of Portland 12pm-3pm
Meet with Admission Representatives of many colleges accross the country!
Free and open to the public, PNACAC fairs connect you with colleges and universities in one convenient location.
Students: register in advance with StriveScan by filling out a quick form. After you sign up, StriveScan will send a barcode via text message and email. At the college fair, present your barcode to college representatives to receive more information about that college. The next day, receive an email with a report of all of the colleges and representatives you met, along with contact information and social media profiles.
Oregon Tradeswomen’s Career Fair is a FREE, interactive, trades-focused career event highlighting apprenticeship and debt-free training options for lucrative career pathways. It is one of the most exciting and engaging career fairs in our region dedicated to the skilled trades industry!

High School students in Washington County are invited to apply for a scholarship with the Area One Inside Electrical JATC 4 year apprenticeship program to become a General Journeyman Eleectrician.
This is an incredibly valuable opportunity to skip the points-based traditional ranking process and gain Direct Entry into our apprenticeship program. We will give away one full-ride scholarship per county (see list below). It is renewable all four years of their time with us, pending students maintain a “C” average in their night classes.

Impact NW offers a FREE Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship program open to Oregon residents aged 17- 24 who have a GED or high school diploma and are interested in the Manufacturing trades.

ThinkBIG is a Caterpillar-specific instructional program that pays you while you train to become a technician. Once accepted into this two-year program, you alternate between the classroom and a paid employment at Peterson. When you graduate, you will have an Associate Degree from PCC in Applied Science, over 2000 hours of on the job experience at Peterson, and continue with a full-time job. Wow!

You can now search for WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) schools through SchooLinks - When selecting "College", and "College Search", Unselect "Oregon", select the filter tool "other" and "counselor comments". You'll then be able to see all schools outside of Oregon which offer the WUE Program. What is WUE? This program offers students from Oregon the opportunity to pay In-State tuition and a participating WUE School.
This is an amazing and affordable summer opportunity for high school students to visit China. In this 2 week program, students will experience life in a prestigious Chinese university (Minzu University of China) in Beijing, visit iconic historical sites such as the Forbidden City, experience traditional art and music workshops, and also learn to speak Chinese. Scholarships are provided for our participants by the Chinese Bridge association which covers all costs incurred while in China including lodging, meals, local transportation, courses, and museum tickets. Students only need to pay for air tickets and an organizing fee of $800.
