Earning Credit/ Clock Hours

If you are interested in earning college credit or Washington clock hours through Seattle Pacific University for attending the OASL Fall Conference, here are the details.

Important:

Registration for credit or for Washington clock hours closes at 11:59 pm Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 13th.

To qualify, you have to attend 10 hours of sessions, which can include speakers. That is not possible for those who only attend one day of the conference.

  • Cost: $55 for 1 college credit hour; $20 for 10 clock hours
  • Registration deadline: 11:59 pm Pacific on Saturday, October 13th
  • Requirements: Register on time, attend a minimum of 10 hours of sessions (can include featured speakers), take notes at each session, turn in the assignment; you can only get 10 hours of session time by attending both conference days.
  • Assignment: Credit => session summaries plus summative paper; clock hours => session summaries; both => you must document all of the sessions (can include featured speakers) that you attend, and that must add up to at least 10 hours; see syllabus for specifics.
  • Assignment deadline: Email your assignment to jennifer.maurer@state.or.us by 11:59 Pacific on Friday, October 26th.
  • Grade: Once your grade is posted, Seattle Pacific University will mail your grade to you. Or, you can check it using the login you will receive after you register.
  • Registration link: https://goo.gl/gMb7GS (see original link below); EDLR = for college credit; CEU = for clock hours
  • Questions about how to register: Send email to sasinfo@spu.edu (won’t get a response on Saturday).
  • Other questions: Email Jennifer Maurer on Thursday, or see her in the vendor area on Friday between about noon and 4:30 pm.

Sorry for the late notice. Portland State University no longer offers college credit for non-PSU continuing education, so we worked with Seattle Pacific University. It took longer than expected to figure things out, and I just received the registration link this morning. Deadlines, tighter assignment requirements and documentation of hours, and the syllabus format are dictated by Seattle Pacific University.

Thanks,
