Attendance Matters
Chiila Elementary School has partnered with the Martin Family Initiative to implement the Model Schools Literacy Project. This project was designed to improve literacy levels.
Attendance has a direct impact on academic success. Therefore, Chiila Elementary School has launched the Attendance Matters campaign where students who achieve perfect monthly attendance will be recognized and eligible for prizes. Perfect attendance is recognized as having no more than 3 excused absences and no lates.
In the current academic year, we have facilitated monthly attendance incentive field trips since January, including two trips to the movie theatres and, in March, we will be going on a trip to Flying Squirrel Sports park. These incentive field trips have had a great impact on students wanting to attend school in order to participate in this attendance incentive field trips.
