The Interact Club is a dynamic group for teens aged 13 to 18, focused on community service and global awareness. It gives young people a chance to work together, lead, and make a positive difference through impactful projects. Each year, members organize at least two major service projects: one to address local needs, and another to support global causes.
Although guided by Rotary, the club is self-run, allowing members to take charge and develop leadership skills. This environment fosters personal growth, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of local and global issues. The history of Interact
The history of Interact
The Interact Club was founded by Rotary International on November 5, 1962, at Melbourne High School in Florida, USA. Established to provide a platform for young people aged 13-18, Interact aims to engage youth in community service and leadership development. Rotary International’s goal was to foster a sense of social responsibility and leadership potential among young people, allowing them to experience the importance of community service and international understanding through practical involvement. Within a year of its founding, Interact had expanded to 177 clubs across 24 countries. Today, the organisation has grown to approximately 14,900 clubs in 145 countries, making it a major global network of youth-led service organisations. Members actively contribute to community progress and international dialogue through a variety of local and global projects.
