GENERAL INFORMATION
TSTC LVN to RN Transition Program is:
Accredited by the Texas Board of Nursing
3 semester - a 12 month program
Hybrid Program
lectures being synchronous online approximately 40% of the time
Face to face classroom, simulation labs, and clinicals approximately 60% of the time

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN); once you pass the examination, you will be classified as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Program for West Texas is offered at Sweetwater Campus.
Program Requirements:
Must be a licensed LVN in good standing
ATI TEAS Exam Version 7 with a comprehensive total score of 70% or higher and a reading score of 75% or higher
Completion of all required prerequisites before the first day of class
Prerequisites which must be completed by the first day of classes:
Anatomy and Physiology I - BIOL 2301 & BIOL 2101 or BIOL 2402 - with a C or higher and less than 10 years old.
Anatomy and Physiology II - BIOL 2302 & BIOL 2102 or BIOL 2402 - with a C or higher and less than 10 years old.
Microbiology for non-science majors - BIOL 2420 or BIOL 2320 &2120 - with a C or higher and less than 10 years old.
English Composition 1 - ENGL 1301
General Psychology - PSYC 2301
Lifespan Growth & Development - PSYC 2314
Humanities or Fine Arts elective - ACGM X3XX - contact Enrollment for approved courses

(any D's or F's from any previous course or prerequisite course will not be accepted into the VN program)
Application Requirements:
Apply with TSTC at TSTC General Admissions with all official transcripts.
Attend a Mandatory Information Session. Dates, times, and link to join can be found at TSTC LVN-RN Program.
Please make sure to select the "Information Session Dates - Sweetwater" link.
After attending an information session, an email will be sent with a notification that the ADN Application is ready to be filled out. Please have all of the required documents available for a complete application submission.
Application Documents:
Copy of Driver's License and Social Security Card
Personal health insurance is recommended but not required
CPR/BLS card from American Heart Association - BLS Healthcare Provider ONLY
LVN License from the Texas Board of Nursing
ATI TEAS Exam Version 7 test with score
Copy of all unofficial transcripts
2x2" color photo
Proof of Employment letter
Three Letter's of Recommendations from friend, coworkers, supervisors. No letters from family member will be accepted
Immunizations:
MMR x2 doses or a positive titer that reflects immunity
HepB x3 doses or a positive titer that reflects immunity
Varicella x2 doses or a positive titer that reflects immunity
Tdap within the past 10 years
Flu vaccine with the current flu season
TB within 1 year
Meningococcal if under 22 years old
Covid - recommended but not required by TSTC. Some clinical sites may ask for proof of a Covid vaccine
Take the ATI TEAS test with minimum passing scores:
Comprehensive total: 70% or above
Reading: 75% or above
