Connecting with Students

The Slack server will be available 24 x 7. Students working on a course topic after hours this will provide your earliest opportunity to receive an answer by the next business day.

Students post queries to the specific course channel. Channels are also available for announcements, Career Services events, jobs/internships, tutoring, and fun.

Under the direction of the Office of Information Technology (OIT), a NETLAB+ data center was built on the TSTC Waco campus which houses 16 Cisco POD (Point of Delivery) units.

Each POD includes the following: 2 Catalyst 2690 24 10/100 + 2 1000BT Switches; 2 Cisco ISR 4321 Routers; and 1 APC Rack Mounted Power Distribution Unit (PDU).

ADEG replaced text-based discussions with FlipGrid. Flipgrid is simple, free video discussions to make learning fun, fulfilling, and empowering as well as increase student engagement significantly.

An intranet site was created to assist students in connecting with other students, instructors, and PBE coaches statewide. It also included information on acquiring software, minimum technology requirements, PBE grading policy, and a "How To" video section.

A remote access lab was created on the Fort Bend campus with equipment no longer being used for on-campus or hybrid courses.
