Help Needed – Volunteer Today!
Volunteers are needed for the following roles.
Check in Pitt / Hipping - the starting line, check and verify athletes' names and their correct lane assignment. Do the same for the next available heat in the same event.
Call Room / Line Up Checker - Responsible for roll calls when athletes check in 30 minutes before their event. Have all athletes for that event remain seated together until being called to walk to the starting line. Athletes can be grouped by heat. Also make announcements - "1st Call" and "Last Call" for each event. Call Room volunteers will work closely with "Check in Pitt / Hipping" volunteers.
Long Jump - Assists with measuring jumps, raking the sand pit, and ensuring athletes follow proper takeoff procedures. Helps record results and maintain a smooth event flow.
Triple Jump - Supports officials by monitoring the hop, step, and jump phases, raking the sand pit, and measuring distances accurately. Assists in keeping the runway clear and recording results.
High Jump - Helps set and adjust the bar height, ensures proper landing area setup, and retrieves the bar when knocked down. Assists with recording heights and keeping the event organized.
Shot Put - Assists in retrieving and returning the shot, marking and measuring throws, and ensuring athletes stay within the competition area. Helps maintain safety and efficiency in the event.
Discus Throw - Supports by retrieving and returning the discus, marking throw distances, ensuring athletes stay within the throwing circle, and maintaining event safety and order.
False Start Flagger - Responsible for stopping runners if the starter gun fails to fire properly. Ensures fair and safe starts by signaling athletes to stop and assisting officials in restarting the race as needed.
Starting Blocks - Assists athletes in setting up and adjusting starting blocks before races. Ensures blocks are properly secured on the track and removes them promptly after the start to keep the lanes clear.
