Concurrent Enrollment allows our students to earn college credit while they're attending high school. Our students have the option to enroll in either of the two or both of our local community colleges: Front Range Community College and AIMS Community College.
It is important that all steps in the Concurrent Enrollment Checklist are completed and all documents are submitted by the deadline for each semester the student plans to attend. Completion is vital for the Thompson School District to cover the cost of the student's college course tuition, student fees & textbooks.
The deadline to complete the CE Checklist for Spring 2025 is
Friday, December 6th

In partnership with Aims Community College, we offer high school students the opportunity to participate in the Career Academy program. This program provides students the opportunity to get a jump start on college and their career path while in high school.
The Career Academy program is a form of concurrent enrollment through which students take outlined college courses in a specific career pathway. Each of the Career Academy pathways trains students in an environment that simulates real-world experiences using industry-standard equipment. Students participate for free; tuition, fees, and course materials are paid by the district.
Students can earn certifications. When they finish high school, the Career Academy positions students for additional training to further their academic and career goals, as well as equips them to enter the workforce.
The Career Academy Program at Aims Community College allows students to earn both high school and college credit and acquire skills and qualifications for entry-level positions. Best of all, there is no cost to participate!
The deadline to apply to Career Academy for the 25/26 school year is March 18, 2025.
Students must talk to their counselor to choose a program and apply to AIMS before the above deadline. AIMS does not accept any applications after this date.
Career Academy Programs Include:
For questions regarding Career Academy or application issues, please contact the AIMS Career Academy Rep Margaret Dempsey at margaret.dempsey@aims.edu or by phone at 970.339.6492.

The deadline to submit your ASCENT application for the 25/26 school year is Friday, April 25, 2025.
