Behavior Policy

Mrs. Richert’s Behavior Policy

Children are expected to listen and follow simple classroom rules:

1. Listen and follow directions.

2. Raise your hand before speaking.

3. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

4. Be kind to your classmates and your teacher.

Al children begin the day as a “Dazzling Dragonfly”. Occasionally a child will make a poor choice. When this occurs the child will be told the rule he/she broke and be given a short time out to think it through and move his or her dragonfly to the “Darting Dragonfly”spot.

Throughout the day should other poor choices be made, the dragonfly will be moved to the “Distressed Dragonfly” spot and the child will miss recess, playtime or other planned afternoon activity. At any time during the day the child has opportunities to improve their behavior and move back to be a “Dazzling dragonfly”.

If behavior becomes a continual problem or one I feel needs addressed at home, I will contact you for a phone call or short conference so we can discuss the concerns. Otherwise you may consider this normal childhood behavior and learning opportunities for your child.
