Hello! I'm Olivia Winstead and I teach kindergarten at Klondike! This is my 14th year teaching kindergarten and I am proud to be a Klondike Nugget! I am married to my amazing husband, Andrew. He works in data management at Cook Research. He grew up in Lafayette and attended McCutcheon High School. We have a son, Oliver, who will be six in October and a daughter, Amelia who will be four in March. Oliver will be starting Kindergarten at KES with Mrs. Lyons! It will be so special to have him with me at work every day! We love spending time outside riding bikes, Oliver riding his John Deere tractor, Amelia painting, and family walks :) Our kiddos have brought so much joy to our lives and we love watching them grow and play at home.
I have one older sister who blessed me with my adorable 13 year old nephew, Jackson, and 9 year old niece, Avery. I am originally from Lexington, KY and a big UK fan (go big blue!). I then moved to Carmel, IN and went to Carmel High School where I was a state show-choir champion. So on occasion, I will bust out some dance moves in class :)
I attended Ball State University and graduated with an Elementary Education degree. I had amazing opportunities at BSU and even got to teach for 3 months in Liverpool, England in a 3rd grade classroom. In my spare time I enjoy playing piano and playing with my cats Chloe and Woodford. I am involved at my church, Calvary, here in West Lafayette, and sing/play piano in the worship band. I am thrilled to be your kindergarten teacher and I can't wait to get to know more about you!
