PHONICS: (UFLI) It’s an explicit and systematic approach to teaching phonics. Your child will come home with a half sheet (usually two half sheets) explaining the phonics pattern we will learn throughout the week. At the end of the week, I will check for understanding of the phonics pattern by giving words to spell and sentences to dictate. Some words will follow the phonics concept and some words will not which are called heart (irregular) words. Thank you for your support in launching this approach to spelling! If you have any questions, please reach out.
