Mini-Economy/Discipline Policy
I will be using a mini-economy system in my classroom. Students will get paid one dollar each Monday. Students will then earn a dollar Tuesday- Friday if their behavior sheet has been signed. Behavior sheets will be go home every day in your child’s take home folder. Students will also be able to earn more money for great behavior throughout the day.
If something happens during the school day that requires a discussion about their behavior, students will bring home a Fix-It Ticket. These tickets will be sent home for major offenses (such as physical violence, bullying, name calling) or recurring offenses (being asked more than once to follow directions, stop talking, completing work, etc.) If there was nothing significant to write home about, I will stamp or put a star on your child’s daily behavior sheet.
Students can also lose money for minor offenses that don’t need Fix-It Tickets such as not doing homework, classwork, or first-time offenses.
Students will be able to use their money to purchase items from the classroom store. They can also save their money to purchase more expensive items, such as homework passes, extra recess, special seat, etc.
