Hi! I am Tisha Bartu and I am excited to have the opportunity to teach your second-grade students! I graduated with my Elementary Education degree from Colorado Christian University. This will be my eighth year at Klondike Elementary. Last year I served as a first-grade teacher, prior to that I worked at KES in a variety of roles, including as Reading Interventionist. I am passionate about teaching children and helping them to grow as they learn new things! It is very important to me to create a welcoming and friendly environment that enables students to develop a love of learning! My teaching style is a very hands-on approach! I will work hard to differentiate our instruction to ensure that each student is able to learn to the best of their abilities! Wong & Wong (2018) explains that, to become an effective teacher requires passion and striving to influence their students lives. They recognize that "mastery learning involves a lifelong commitment to honing the art and craft of teaching with the expectation that you will achieve impact."

One of my favorite quotes when working with students is, "Nourish Curiosity in order to flourish"
