Homework in my classroom will be minimal. 5th grade is such an important grade where students are to prepare for middle school yet should still get to enjoy their youth while it lasts!
Homework in my classroom will be minimal. 5th grade is such an important grade where students are to prepare for middle school yet should still get to enjoy their youth while it lasts!
Students will use their assignment notebook to write down their homework each day. Any work that is NOT finished in class will become HOMEWORK. Please be sure to check your child's assignment notebook and grades in the Parent Portal often.

Reading: Students are expected to read 20-30min every night. Research has shown that daily independent reading is one of the most important factors in predicting a student's success in school. Please encourage your child to read daily, and ask questions about what he/she is reading. The more students practice reading, the better readers, spellers, writers, and more knowledgeable on various topics they become. This means that your student will become stronger in academics all around!

Weekly Spiral Review: Students will have a short math review each day. Students will be given time in the mornings to complete these reviews in class. However, they may need to be taken home for homework if it can't be completed at that time.
