All children will be given a job in which they will complete each day throughout the school day.
Children will be given a job and a job description. The job description serves as a tool in which will help the children understand how their job plays an essential role in making our classroom a functional space.
Children are able to earn mini economy money for completing their jobs, making good choices, and being a helpful helper.
Children will be able to use their money to shop at our classroom store.
Children will make an individual commitment each morning. These commitments will serve as a way for children to become goal-oriented.
Children will also make whole-group commitments alongside their peers.
Examples of Personal Commitments:
"Today, I will invite new friends to play with me at recess."
"Today, I will smile at someone new in the hallway."
Classroom Commitments:
"I will use kind words."
"I will be helpful with my words and body."
"I will be responsible for myself and my learning."
**Any serious discipline issues will be immediately communicated to parents and discussed with the child**
