Our Classroom Rules:
1.) Follow directions.
2.) Have a safe and calm body.
3.) Be kind and treat others with respect.
4.) Be an active listener.
5.) Do your personal best, always.
At the beginning of the year, we develop these rules as a class and discuss their importance.
Inappropriate Behavior:
If a student breaks a rule, the steps below are followed. These steps are continually reviewed throughout the year and are a visual reminder in our classroom. In addition to these steps, I will communicate any issues in the classroom with you at home so we can work together to solve things.
1.) Warning and reminder.
2.) Logical Consequence.
3.) Lose Fun Time.
4.) Principal's Office.
*In extenuating circumstances, Steps 1–3 may be bypassed, and the matter may be referred directly to the principal's office. *
Rewards:
In our classroom, there is emphasis placed on rewarding good behavior as a whole class. To do this, students work together to earn stars and fill our Star Jar. Once filled, the whole class earns a fun reward such as an art party, dance party, stinky feet, etc. Stars are earned when the whole class is rocking it out (everyone is on task, we get a class compliment, etc.). Throughout the year, students also have opportunities to earn rewards for individual behavior as well.
