Parent Contact
I will send progress notes home as needed for students who are not completing their work. Parents will be required to sign these letters and return them with their student. Progress notes will indicate any assignments that are missing or unsatisfactory. Phone calls and parent conferences will take place on an as needed basis in conjunction with the two formal conferences in the fall and spring. Graded assignments are returned to students to show to parents.
Homework
If the student does not return their homework the following morning or when it is due, they will receive a 10 % penalty. After one day being late, the student receives a 20% penalty and so on each day following. Students with late work are required to stay in for recess in order to complete their work. There may be special circumstances in which deadlines and due dates may be extended. This decision is at the discretion of the teacher.
