About Me 

I am from Lafayette, where I attended local schools and then Purdue to receive my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten Endorsement. This will be my 22nd year of teaching, and my 21st year at Burnett Creek. I taught ½ day kindergarten my first year here, and I have taught full day kindergarten since then. I am thrilled to be able to spend the entire day with my kindergartners again this year! 

I have 3 amazing kids, Logan, Ella, and Hope. They are all 3 very different and the absolute best at the same time! I have a 17 year old son, Logan, who will be a SENIOR this year!!! This Mama is not ready to let one of her babes go yet, but here I am! Logan is very loving, smart, plays AAU basketball, runs cross country and track for Harrison, and works at Chipotle. I also have 15 year old twin girls, Ella and Hope, who will be sophomores this year. They just got their permits, so this next year should be lots of fun! Haha! Ella and Hope both have very different personalities, but enjoy a lot of the same activities! Ella is very empathetic, social, and loves volleyball, crafting, and creating. She plays club volleyball with Boiler Juniors, which consumes most of our “free time” November-June and also plays for Harrison! Hope is hilarious, loves all animals and kids, can be reserved, and loves hard! She loves gymnastics/tumbling on the trampoline, soccer, and is my free spirit. She plays club soccer with Boilers FC and plays for Harrison as well. She also plays the flute and saxophone! As busy as we are, I couldn’t imagine life without our daily craziness! As for me, I just love to spend time with my family! When I get a free moment or 2, I love to visit with friends, craft, go on walks, play games, and do puzzles.

My goal this year is to provide your child with an exciting, enriching first year of school and help instill in them a love of learning! Our theme in kindergarten is “Building a Castle of Knowledge!” We will be exploring many topics this year through our numerous units and building your child’s castle of knowledge in all sorts of areas! I realize that you play a vital role in your child’s life and that he/she is one of the most important people in your life. Therefore; feel free to contact me anytime throughout the year, or before, if you have any questions or concerns. While we still have the same crazy, late start time this year, everyone honestly has done a great job with it. I’m confident that we will embrace it and rock it together again this year! I look forward to meeting your child very soon, and I can’t wait to begin this journey with him/her!
