We will follow directions quickly.
We will use quiet voices and kind words.
We will use listening ears and value others' opinions.
We will use helpful hands and feet to keep us safe.
We will give our best effort even when things are hard.
Conscious Discipline emphasizes behavior modeling and problem solving rather than punishment for misbehavior. In Conscious Discipline, we will use the skill of "noticing" to teach students to reflect without judgement. The goal is teach the students what to do instead of what not to do.
Positive behavior choices are promoted in our classroom through a mini-economy. Students will earn ‘money’ for positive choices, such as, achieving their goals, displaying the 7 Habits, and performing classroom jobs.
Students will actively learn a valuable life skill in economics while completing job applications, earning salaries, budgeting money, and balancing a checking account. The students will have the opportunity to spend their money in the classroom store to purchase classroom incentives or sweet treats!
