VOCAB WORDS

Math
We are working on addition and subtraction to the millions place. Tentative quiz next Tuesday.
At least three times a week, I give out Mad Minute worksheets. Students have 5 minutes to answer 100 basic facts. They must pass:
1 mixed addition level
1 mixed subtraction level
1 mixed addition and subtraction
multiplication 2-12, as well as two mixed multiplication levels
division 2-12, as well as two mixed division levels
one "ultimate" worksheet with both multiplication and division.
If students get through all of their multiplication levels by December 11, they are invited to a pizza party with me.

Science/Social Studies
We are learning about common immigrant countries in the United States - Mexico, China, and Japan, specifically. Our reading story has characters from these three countries going to school here for the first time.
