Classroom Policies

HOMEWORK POLICY

    • Every day students will be given time to complete most assignments in class and any work not completed during that time will be brought home to complete. I do not create assignments for the purpose of just being homework.

    • Students will be required to read 20 minutes each night in a book of their choice (preferably one that they are reading for AR).

    • Students may need to spend some time at home working on reviewing spelling and/or vocabulary words at home as extra practice.

    • Students who are missing an assignment may be required to work on those assignments during their recess. (This helps make sure that students do not compound their homework for that night.)

Absences

    • We all get sick sometimes! When a student is absent, all materials from that day will be placed in their folder in the “absent crate" along with directions on what they need to complete.

    • The amount of days a student is absent is the amount of days they have to complete the assignments missed. (E.g. absent 1 day = 1 day to complete the assignments)

GRADING POLICY

100% - 90% = A

89% - 80% = B

79% - 70% = C

69% - 60% = D

59% AND BELOW = F

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS...

          • Students will receive graded work throughout the week. Students can always correct an assignment and turn it back in for a regrade. A student has 2 days to return this work with a parent's signature. Students can earn either half or full credit back on each corrected answer.

          • Assignments should be completed to the best of the student’s ability and turned in on time.
