Specials Schedule
Monday: Library (10:40-11:10)
Tuesday: Computer Lab (10:40-11:10)
Wednesday: Music (10:40-11:10)
Thursday: P.E. (10:40-11:10)
Friday: Art (10:40-11:10)
Lunch is daily from 11:45-12:30
Communication
Assignment Notebooks: Students will fill out their assignment notebooks daily, have it initialed by the teacher, and signed by the parents to ensure that homework and communication correspondence is covered.
Homework Folder: Any work that has not been completed during the day will be sent home in this folder to be finished at home.
Friday Folder: Graded papers and school wide correspondence will be sent home in this folder. Please look for this folder every Friday, and empty the papers before returning to school on Monday.
Newsletters: Newsletters will be sent electronically every week.
Grades: Grades will be accessed through Power School. They will be updated weekly.
Homework Procedure
On average, homework should take approximately 30-45 minutes daily. As a parent, please assist your child in correcting mistakes to understand new concepts and skills being taught. *Please note that on occasion, the students may have to spend more time on homework.
Assessments (tests, quizzes, performance tasks, etc.) will be given on a regular basis to assure comprehension.
Various projects will be assigned throughout the year. Completion dates and requirements will be adequately provided for proper planning and success.
Late assignments are accepted but highly discouraged. To prevent routine late work, 10% reductions are taken for each overdue day.
Grading Procedure
A+ 100
A 99-90
B 89-80
C 79-70
D 69-60
F 59 & below
*Any paper turned in late will automatically receive a 10% deduction. An additional 10% will be deducted for each additional late day.
*If your child is absent, then they will have adequate time to complete missed work.
Incentives
Bonus Bucks: Students setting positive examples and following directions may be rewarded with bonus bucks!
Table Wars: Students will have the opportunity to earn beads for their table by making good choices and doing the right thing. The table that has the most beads at the end of the designated time will earn a reward.
Discipline Procedure
Mini-Economy: Students will be assigned classroom jobs for which they will be paid. Students will in turn be fined for late homework, not following directions, etc.
