Classroom Behavior

Positive Rewards:

  1. One student every week will receive a classroom “Nugget Award.” The Nugget Award Winner will take his/her slip to the office to choose a book from the vending machine. The class Nugget winner will also have his/her name printed in the following week’s Nugget Newsletter!

  2. As a class, students will be able to earn a larger reward based on compliments the class has received as a whole. Students will set a goal for compliments and will be able to have input on the reward to work towards.

Data Collection, Analysis, & Use of Interventions

  • Classroom clipboards travel with each class and are used to record both positive and negative behaviors by teachers and staff.

  • Teachers use behavior data to plan engaging and interactive lessons that are differentiated to the needs of their students and classroom.

  • Teachers work with the BeRTI team for students in need of Tier II or Tier III interventions and supports.

Corrections/Minor Infractions

  • Unexpected negative behaviors will be recorded as “Corrections” on the clipboard by the supervising teacher under the Golden rule that connects to the behavior

  • Teachers will utilize Tier 1 strategies and logical consequences to address behavior and assist students in growing from the correction.

  • 2+ Corrections require some form of communication at home

  • 5+ Corrections can lead to Office Discipline Referral

Clipboards:

Our classroom has a clipboard with a class roster and discipline forms. This clipboard will travel with the class to lunch, recess, and all specials. This will be used as a behavior tracking device--both corrections and compliments will be recorded.
