Important information

Report card scoring/grading: Students will receive a report card every 9 weeks. In kindergarten, a typical A-F scale is not used, and instead each skill is assessed and assigned a score between 1 (still progressing) and 4 (mastered).

Homework: Homework practice folders will go home every Monday. Inside, there will be decodables, graded quizzes from the previous week, worksheets for extra practice, and flashcards. Please don't spend more than 10 minutes a night on this.

Behavior policy: In our classroom, students will be expected to follow these rules:

1. Listen when someone is talking

2. Follow directions quickly

3. Be safe. Be kind. Be honest.

4. Keep your hands and your feet to yourself

5. Raise your hand for permission to speak or to leave your seat

6. Do your best, even if it isn't perfect!

Discipline: Should a student not follow the classroom rules, the following 5-step plan will be used:

1. verbal warning

2. Take a break from the activity/environment

3. Loss of 2 minutes of play

4. Loss of 5 minutes of play

5. Loss of entire play and contact home

If a student is still not following expectations, they will then be given an office referral.
