PUPIL PROGRESS REPORT EXPLANATION FOR 2018-2019
This is a list of skills that will be tested for the report card per 9 weeks. This skills build on top of each other.
1st Nine Weeks
Follows print from left to right and top to bottom
Identifies letters from words and words from sentences
Recognizes own name
Recognizes sight words
Identifies title and author in a story
Stays engaged in read-alouds
Writes from left to right
Understand and follow one and two-step spoken directions
Speaks clearly and is easily understood
Counts by 1’s
Counts sets of objects 0-20
Records and organizes information, answer questions about data using objects, and pictures in context
Create, extend, and give the rule for simple patterns with shapes
Recognizes and sorts objects by color
Identifies concepts of time using calendar terms
Identifies the terms, morning, afternoon, and evening
Knows phone number, address and birthday
Writes first name
Knows eight colors: red, yellow, brown, blue, black, green, purple, orange
Knows the shapes: circle, triangle, square, rectangle and oval
2nd Nine Weeks
Says rhyming words in response to oral prompt
Blends consonant-vowel-consonant sounds aloud to make words
Tells the beginning sound of a word
Tells the ending sound of a word
Uses picture clues to predict what the story will be about
Tells reality from fantasy
Relates personal experiences to a story
Writes from top to bottom
Draws pictures and writes words for a specific reason
Writes phonetically spelled words and CVC words
Handwriting - Correctly writes lower and capital letters
Writes last name
Recognizes numbers 0-20
Writes numbers 0-20
Model addition for numbers less than 10 by joining sets of objects
Create, extend, and give the rule for simple patterns with numbers
Recognizes and sorts objects by shape
3rd Nine Weeks
Counts the number of syllables in a word
Identifies the setting, characters and main idea in a story
Discusses ideas to include in a story
Tells a story the teacher or another person can write
Find the number that is one more than or one less than any whole number up to 20
Using objects, verbally describe the mathematical equation for addition with numbers less than 10
Model subtraction for numbers less than 10 by removing objects from sets
Recognizes and sorts objects by size
Identifies and demonstrates the positions of objects using positional terms
Compare objects based on length, weight, and height
4th Nine Weeks
Using objects, verbally describe the mathematical equation for subtraction with numbers less than 10
Students are progressed monitored at the end of each nine weeks. Each nine weeks incorporates the previous standards already assessed.
We use a number grading scale:
4: Mastery
3: Approaching Mastery
2: Developing Mastery
1: Needs Time To Master
