Classroom Expectations

If a student is not following the classroom expectations, I will give them one verbal warning to stop the behavior. If the behavior continues, I will then give them a "Think Sheet" to fill out. The sheet will allow them to individually reflect on how they felt during the situation, how they made a negative choice, and how they can make a better choice in the future. At the end of the day, I will speak with the student individually to understand how they felt during the situation, and how we can work together to avoid the negative choice again in the future. If a student receives 2 Think Sheets within one day, both Think Sheets will go home with the student and will need to be returned the following day with a parent signature. I will also send an email home explaining the situation and the needed signature.

As a whole class, the students will be working together throughout the week to earn a specific reward on Fridays. I will be asking the daily specials teacher how the whole class behaved. If they say they behaved well as a class, they will receive one point towards their Friday incentive. If they say they did not behave well as a class, they will not receive a point towards their Friday incentive. The students need ALL five points to earn their Friday reward. Some examples of their rewards are extra recess, show and tell, games, stuffed animal day, and more!
