Hi! My name is Aleena Zepick, and I have the privilege to work with and serve Tippecanoe School Corporation as the Visual Arts teacher at Hershey and Dayton Elementary schools. I graduated from Purdue University in December 2021 with a bachelor's degree in visual arts education and a minor in art history. My primary goal is to teach students how to understand the visual world around them by studying visual works of art throughout history and the present world. My hope is that students can better understand themselves and others by learning how to create, present, respond, and connect to works of art. I teach a discipline-based art curriculum where I curate lessons for students based on historical or current artists and art methods, aesthetics, and art criticism, and I work to ensure that students will have exposure to a variety of media, styles, and artists. I believe that every human was created to create, whether that means creating ideas, conversations, relationships, or art, and I'm excited to help students find out how, what, and why they can create!Â
