My name is Allison Funk, and this is my third year teaching third grade! I graduated from Purdue University in December 2023 with my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I was lucky enough to complete my student teaching experience at BCE during the fall semester. I was then able to stay at BCE during the second half of the year by serving as the full-time substitute teacher in the intermediate resource room. I started teaching 3rd grade at BCE in the fall of 2024. I am so thankful to be at the best school in the best grade there is!
A little about me is that I am engaged and will be getting married at the end of this school year. My fiance and I have an 8-year-old princess puppy named Hazel. She was adopted and is a crazy mix of all different breeds! She definitely runs our world and is the inspiration behind our class theme. Pets have the ability to brighten any day, and I want our classroom to do the same for your kiddos.
Our classroom will be run in a way that puts the individual needs of your students first. I plan to do this through differentiated groupings that meet your students at their individual levels so that everyone is able to grow and learn at the speed they are ready for. Third grade is such a pivotal year, and I cannot wait to see all of the growth your students are going to make!
