There are no daily homework expectations for Kindergarten. Time at home should be spent working on self help skills that will foster independence. Your child should able to take care of simple tasks like using the restroom and washing up, brushing teeth, tying, zipping, dressing, picking up, simple cleaning (like wiping small spills and crumbs) opening packages, etc. This is also an important time to talk to your child while sharing a meal, playing a game, reading a book, and following a bedtime routine. Occasionally, I will send home worksheets for extra practice. These will always be things that we have learned in class. These do not need to be sent back to school. Finally, READ, READ,READ to your child. It is the one at home activity that will have the most power and learning success!
