Welcome to First Grade!
My name is Kari Frey and I am so excited to be your child’s First Grade teacher this year! I have been teaching for 25 years in the Tippecanoe School Corporation. I have worked at Hershey and Woodland for the past 25 years and now I am looking forward to my first year at Mintonye. I have experience teaching 2nd and 3rd grade as well as the last nine years in Kindergarten.
I graduated from Purdue University and hold a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I also have experience teaching gifted and talented students as well as English as a second language learners. I was even granted a year’s leave of absence during the 1999-2000 school year to teach 2nd grade overseas in Barcelona, Spain!
I am married to my husband Paul works as the CIO for Witham Health Services in Lebanon, Indiana. We have three children, Audrey who will be a Freshman at Purdue, Lilly a freshman at Central Catholic, and our son Parker is a 3rd grader at Cole Elementary School. We also have an mini Australian Shepard named Winston.
