Food bank partners with schools to feed families on Thanksgiving
Hundreds of families in eastern Oklahoma will enjoy a Thanksgiving feast, thanks to a partnership between school food pantries and the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. School officials drove through to pick up the 200 Holiday Helpings boxes, which the Food Bank prepared for the schools to distribute to families, on Wednesday. This is the second year the Food Bank has gathered Thanksgiving meal boxes for students. Each box serves a family of six, complete with holiday favorites.

Over 100 people walked a timeline of exactly how the 1921 Race Massacre played out in downtown Saturday. “You start digging in Tulsa, it’s very difficult to not dig this up and to start thinking about, said teacher Dan Hahn. The walk started at the Drexel building where an incident between a black teen and a white woman set things in motion nearly a hundred years ago. “It was like a powder key for something horrible to happen,” said Hahn. For an angry mob to march on Black Wall Street.

Tulsa students pedal for almost 1,000 miles to reach Europe
Twelve students and teachers from Tulsa School of Arts and Sciences (TSAS), all tried to bike 100 miles each to get to the Netherlands. “I’m steady, but let’s see in one hour where I’m at. I have no idea,” said TSAS teacher Stephen Place. The goal is to raise money for their Oversea Odyssey, which will move the classroom to Belgium and the Netherlands for weeks. It's a place that fits right in for a school of arts and science. “The Netherlands was chosen because of its history of tolerance.
