What is Husky Hour?
Husky Hour is a flex period between 4th and 5th periods. The main purposes of Husky Hour are:
Eating lunch
Academic work
Make up tests with teachers
Extra help with teachers
Homework & studying
Group projects
Visiting the library to use Chromebook, do research, check out a book, read in a quiet place, print work, etc.
Visiting the writing center (located inside the library) to get help writing or editing
Participating in clubs and organizations
All clubs meet at least monthly. The daily club schedule is always posted on the screens around the building.
What is Husky Hour Academic Intervention?
Husky Hour Academic Intervention occurs when a teacher assigns you to come and see them for academic help during Husky Hour. If you are assigned to see a teacher during Husky Hour you must show up or you will be assigned to Husky Hour Academic Detention. Each subject is assigned a day for intervention:
Monday – History and Fine Arts
Tuesday – Math and PE, Driver’s Ed, Health
Wednesday – Science and World Languages
Friday – English and Academies
What is Husky Homeroom on Thursdays?
On Thursdays, all students have homeroom for half of Husky Hour. Freshmen report to their homerooms (see your schedule for room number) at the beginning of Husky Hour and stay until they are dismissed for lunch (30 minutes). Homeroom attendance is checked, failure to report results in detention for skipping. Homeroom time is used for all type of things:
Important training sessions
Class meetings
Progress/grade checks with homeroom teachers
Voting and surveys
