eBooks, Audio Books, and Language Learning Support

Twin Rivers Unified School District is committed to providing students access to a wide array of diverse print and nonprint media to supplement and enrich their academic skills. Research supports the value of literacy in long-term positive outcomes  in our lives, and TRUSD has a dedicated group of professional Librarians and Library Media Technicians eager to support student literacy into their adulthood through Library skill building, digital citizenship instruction, and a shared love of literature and informational text.

Digital Resources for Students  from 

Twin Rivers Unified School District

TRUSD has purchased hundreds of eBooks and audio books for our students. These books range in interest level from preK to adult readers, and include picture books, general fiction, nonfiction, and poety.

Destiny Online Library Catalog

TRUSD  School Libraries each host an online catalog called Destiny Discover. Our Destiny Catalogs include print books, eBooks, and Audio Books.  When students access their personal Destiny account through the light green Learning Tools folder in their TRUSD Apps Portal , they can browse and place holds on print books, check out eBooks and audio books, and access diverse curated collections.


eBooks and Audio Books  from the Sacramento Public Library

The Sacramento Public Library offers several free digital resources to residents of Sacramento County. All of these resources can be found on their website at Saclibrary.org. TRUSD students can also access all of the offerings of the Sacramento Public Library through their TRUSD Apps Portal, in the Research Databases folder.



Student Success Card

Students in Sacramento area schools have access to these resources using their Student Success Card. Learn more HERE.

Once students have registered for their Student Success Card using their school student ID, they have free access to Hoopla, Libby, online tutoring, and research databases.


Sacramento Library Card for Adults

All of these resources are free for parents and families too! A Sacramento Public Library Card is free for residents of Sacramento County. Click HERE to register online today!



Hoopla

Hoopla is one of the Sacramento Public Library's digital libraries. It includes eBooks, audio books, and online comics. With the Student Success Card, students have upto 30 checkouts per month with Hoopla.

Libby

Libby is another of the Sacramento Public Library's digital collections. It includes eBooks, audio books, and over 3000 online magazines that don't count toward students' 30 digital checkouts on their Student Success Cards.  Libby also includes instructional videos in arts, crafts, and music, as well as recordings of concerts.

Community Language Books

On the Community Languages page of the Sacramento Public Library's website, readers can explore eBooks is multiple languages, including  Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, and Russian.

Digital Language Learning Resources for Families  from the Sacramento Public Library


The Sacramento Public Library provides free support for those learning a new language. Under the Community tab on the library website is an option for English Language Learning, where students and families can find an assortment of resources for learning English and up to 100 other languages as well.

Mango Languages

Mango is a free online Language Learning program offered to library card (Student Success Card) holders. Users can learn up to 70 different languages and the program does not require any special program downloads to your device.
