The Squires Digital Media Club is a creative space where students can explore and develop skills across various digital media disciplines. The club meets every Monday after school from 3:00pm to 4:00pm and is open to all students eager to dive into the world of digital media.
Activities and Focus Areas:
Digital Art: Students will have the opportunity to learn and practice digital art techniques using industry-standard software. Projects may include digital illustrations, graphic design, and animation.
Music and Podcasts Production: This area will cover the basics of creating and editing music and podcasts. Students will learn about sound recording, mixing, editing, and the use of audio production software.
Photography: Members will explore various aspects of photography, including composition, lighting, and digital photo editing. Activities will include photo shoots and editing workshops.
Website Creation: Students will gain hands-on experience in designing and building websites. Topics will include HTML, CSS, and website development tools.
Film and Video Production: This segment focuses on the process of creating films and videos, from scripting and storyboarding to filming and editing. Students will work on their own projects and collaborate on group productions.
Television and Broadcasting Production: Members will learn about the production and broadcasting of television content, including scriptwriting, camera work, and live broadcasting techniques.
Universal Design: This area will emphasize the principles of universal design in digital media, ensuring that projects are accessible and inclusive for all users.
eSports Integration: As an exciting addition, we are exploring the possibility of incorporating an eSports program within the Digital Media Club. If approved, this will be introduced as a pilot program, allowing students to engage in competitive gaming and related digital media skills. Once both the Digital Media and eSports programs are operational, we will reassess and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the eSports program’s effectiveness and impact.
